Ask Me a Question

May 23, 2004

First of all, got some news on the site: VP now has a redirected URL! So, instead of typing out, bravehost.com, it's now http://veelaspensieve.cjb.net/. And VP has a new affiliate, Alohomora: A Dan microsite!

Excerpts from Newseek::>
May 31 issue - The first scene of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" removes any doubt that the famous child wizard is growing up fast. The camera glides toward a light pulsing in the night, then through an open bedroom window, where Harry is hiding under his covers, playing with his wand and hoping to God he doesn't get caught. Wait a minute. Has new director Alfonso Cuaron inserted a sneaky allusion to the private habits of teenage boys into the family-friendly franchise? Cuaron's a warm, chatty guy and not one to dodge controversy—his last film, "Y Tu Mama Tambien," was so graphic that it was released unrated—but there's no way on earth he's going anywhere near this topic. "This is NEWSWEEK, man!" he says, then laughs for a very long time.

"I forgot to do mine," says Grint. "It was a bit embarrassing. Emma did, like, 20 pages!" Watson just sighs when she hears this. "It gets bigger and bigger every time he mentions it," she says. "First it was 10 pages, then it was 12 and now it's 20. In my defense, I did write quite a few pages, but I have big handwriting and I left really big spaces."

The essays were part of Cuaron's plan to treat them like teens rather than tykes. "When you work with kids, people tell you to be very delicate," he says. "But that's the last thing you want to be with kids. They feel patronized if you're like that. They just want you to be normal." Case in point: to inspire Radcliffe for a scene in which he had to appear awed, Cuaron told him, "Pretend you're seeing Cameron Diaz in a G-string." No surprise, it worked. (Why her Dan, why her?) "The only thing in my personal relationship with the kids that was a disadvantage was that I couldn't curse," Cuaron says. "It was written in my contract." He did, however, manage to pass on a few choice phrases to Radcliffe in Spanish. "That was nice," Radcliffe says, sweetly. "But it's nothing I can repeat for the Spanish audience."

Thewlis, meanwhile, still can't stop raving about the lad who plays Harry: "He's fantastic, remarkably sane and quite eccentric. He's quite the little punk, and so self- deprecating. We used to joke that he'd be in rehab by the time he was 18, and by 27 he'd be hosting a game show called 'It's Wizards!' He's very funny."

"Azkaban" is likely to make Radcliffe not just more famous but totally crush-worthy. In addition to growing as actors, Radcliffe and Watson in particular have blossomed into physically beautiful teens. Although Warner Bros. initially signed the kids to just one movie at a time, fearing they might grow too tall or get tired of the job, the studio has now offered to lock them in for the remaining four pictures. The teens, though, are still taking it movie by movie. It's hard to know at 14 what you'll want to be doing at 19. "I really do love acting," says Radcliffe. "So it's definitely something I'd be interested in doing in my future life. But I'm keeping my options open. I'm ready for anything."

Exams are fast approaching, and there are only three days left of school! This weekend may be the last time I update for about a week, so don't expect much coming here.

From Tom Felton's website:
Q: Am I going out with Emma Watson?
A: She's a lovely girl who's really pretty but I'm not going out with her. I wish!

May 18, 2004

Forms aren't working and running out of daily bandwidth, so expect those to work later on this week.

A few minor things to discuss ::>

Chapter 2 to Upon the Wings of a Dove has been uploaded, so go read and review!

And Dan, Rupert, and Emma will be judging the Hogwarts Lego Contest!

May 16, 2004

One word: Hot

How Dan might write the last Harry Potter book:
"Um, I don't know if I can, I think there's going to be something, and I'd like to say before I answer this, that this is completely unfounded. Jo Rowling has told me absolutely nothing I promise, but I think because of the link between Harry and Voldemort's wands, there's going to be something, whereby, Harry, I mean I don't want to cause a big outcry. But I've got really bad feelings that something not so good's going to happen to Harry. Because maybe like if he died that's the only way Voldemort could die as well and so they cancel each other out. I think people are going to go mad when I've said that I'm sure. Or he would become a Quidditch player. It's a happier ending."

JK Rowling's official site has opened. It seems to be down off and on due to traffic.

The long night after...
Prom was a bit of a dissapointment. After spending over $400 overall, feel a bit cheated. Hip-hop the whole night! Stupid dj's played only one song I knew, Coldplay's Yellow. And what's that like two, three years old? Oh well. And the thought that prom was supposed to be magical!

May 15, 2004

Please, if you will, vote for VP!

May 14, 2004

I know, I know...it's been a while. My life has been really chaotic recently. I'm going through some kind of depression, it seems. Nothing is working for me, friend-wise. And prom is tommorrow. I've got my dress altered, my brows waxed and my crosage, however you spell that, ordered. Let's see here's my to- do list:

wake up
brush teeth
wash my face
take a shower
ugh..shave
throw some clothes on
get my hair done
pick up my crosage
watch a movie and relax
put on my face
get dressed
brush my teeth
get everything ready to go
dash out

And must remember not to use mouthwash or chew Orbit gum, and much less drink, unless want to come up positive on breathalizer.

I'm surprised my french manicure has held up for a day and a half. No chips! Let's hope it stays that way.

Hmmmm....mount your brooms and grasp them tightly. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Here's a funny picture. Just love it because it's so real! It's Dan and the stunt doubles relaxing after PoA wrap-up. Absolutely adore the red picture eyes!

Let's see...intended to post chapter two to Upon the Wings of a Dove, never got around to it.

May 10, 2004

Well, I've added a "Something Wicked This Way Comes" midi to the page. Hope you all like it.

No updates really, just watching my crappy copy of HP that I taped last night. I just love those deleted scenes. Why must they always cut the really cool stuff out!

May 9, 2004

Voting has started at Riddikulus, so please vote for me!

***I've added the Elite Quill Award winners as well as my awards and gifts page. And I'm elated to announce that the construction of this version of VP is complete!***

Lots of things to discuss here:

There's an article in the Girls' Life magazine on PoA. Cho Chang has been casted. The Sunday Express has reported that 16-year-old Katie Leung has landed the part; and, it's believed to be true. There's a new trailer attached to Van Helsing. And of course, set those VCR's because ABC will be airing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Sunday night at 7pm EST/6pm CST. The movie will contain never-before-seen footage and after the film there will be a 10-minute Prisoner of Azkaban special hosted by Dan, Emma and Rupert.

There's a new promo autograph drifting around ::>

And a new promo from a Japanes movie magazine, CREA::>

And, something else...::>

<::If only she wasn't in it.

May 8, 2004

Here's a new scan from Teen Vogue.

And voting has started at the Seeker Awards, so please send your votes there!

May 6, 2004

I've updated the dolls page with nine new dolls.

The Pensieve has also been updated. I have added a prologue for my new story Upon the Wings of the Dove and a one shot, His Absence is My Reason. So go read and review!

Also, there's a new rumor out that PoA will be released for a screening on May 31 in the UK 'due to unprecendented demand'. But, just for one day; then, it will be re-released with a premiere in June. It appeared in The Sun, and Warner Bros. hasn't commented; so there's no reliable confirmation there.

Cinco de Mayo, 2004

Well, since I'm not Mexican at all, I'll show my patriotism. I mean after all, this is Texas.

Here's something to laugh at....

Aww...too cute!

May 4, 2004

Um, yeah...this picture by the way, and I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but, um, it's fake. I do hope that no one ever thought it was genuine.

And please, please, please keep those votes going here!
Thank you so much!

I've decided to change the Elite Quill Award. I won't accept nominations, so it will be deicided by me. I try to visit new sites, and would like to award them based on creativity, content, and design. I think that will be cooler because then it will be unexpected to the site that wins.

May 3, 2004
I'm proud to award VA with the Elite Quill Award as the Site of the Month.

Not much in the way of updates. I did whip up that tag-me graphic. I just think it's so cool!

Of course it is 7:30 in the morning. Just feeling a bit nastolgic. VP will turn 1 year old on July 9th. And I was just taking a look at the old screen shots. What a humble beginning! I started as an MSN group, and I realized that not only was it complete crap, but that nothing was going to come of it.

Then in October I moved over to Bravenet hosting; and, since then VP's come a long way.

Well, you've gotta start somewhere. :)

May 2, 2004
ALERT-to all HP webmasters/mistresses
Recently, HP sites have been hacked by "The Unconscious Awake Crew" (a.k.a. "ToXiC"). Just a week and a half ago, GinnyPotter.com was hacked by this "crew", and today DiagonAlley.org was hacked as well. Mugglenet was also threatened quite a while ago. Please, be very careful if you own a Harry Potter site. Protect yourself -Do not give your password out to anyone! -from MA.

Cool promo image from Mugglenet.com::>&

HP Skit on SNL last night. Looked funny, wish I would have seen it. :(

Several updates here: Let's see, I'm waiting on word from Mesmorize and Friends Forever on affiliating. And, I've nominated VP for the Potter Online Awards and Padfoot Awards. I've also updated the dolls section with a Trelawney doll and a Harry/Ginny quidditch doll. I've changed the Veela of Erised section. There's a Moulin Rouge manipulation as well as a new doll manipulation of myself.

***Also, I'm so excited---I'm Site of the Month at The Black Forest!***

Expect more soon!

May 1, 2004
I know it's been a while since I've updated. With TAKS and the awards banquet for newspaper, I've just been so busy! Anyways, the Elite Quill award is almost done. So hopefuly by Monday, I'll have it up for everyone to nominate their sites. It'll be like a Site of the Month kind of thing.

I've also made a new site button; but, that's about it.

April 23, 2004

Hey Baby!

April 22, 2004

Not a whole lot today....I've got the tv on, and I'm just shocked to hear about CBS airing pictures of Princess Diana literally dying. How distasteful! Let her rest in peace! Even though broadcasting is the field I want to go into; I just think too many lines have been crossed, and the sheer nerve of it all!!

Well, I've signed up for the NM awards. Please keep on voting for my topsites and awards. I really appreciate it.

I've recently been getting these strong feelings of dislike towards Emma Watson. I can't put my finger on it. Don't get me wrong, I think she portrays a wonderful Hermione. But she seems to be a snooty priss. Some things she's said in past interviews just make me sick, like this, um, picture...

::>I'm not jealous, I assure you. I mean sure she's got quite an opportunity working with Dan...But, god! She's so annoying!

Oh, well, what can you do?

At least tomorrow's Friday. It seems strange that I won't be working. I haven't had a Friday off for like a year or so. I just don't know what to do with myself!

April 21, 2004

Lots of updates here...Let's see, I've got a site blinkie now! Ooh, aah, and admire...

Credit goes to Magickal Indian
Lots of thanks!!
Oh, and voting has begun at the Portkey Awards. So, please, please, please vote for VP.

Also, I'm proud to announce that VP has some new affiliates, including the Dueling Club, Danny the Boy Girls Love, and a Sight for Sore Eyes. If you have a Harry Potter related site, which I deem appropriate, please don't hesitate in contacting me regarding affiliation.

Well, now on to my unemployment status...I applied at Rack-room Shoes, which is hiring, as well as Ulta Cosmetics, and Pappasitos. Could be promising, who knows.

April 20, 2004

Wow, summer's just around the corner. And I can just feel the stress mounting. It's funny how plans that you know will work out, plans that in no way could ever not work, end up, well, not working. My friends were all planning on going to prom together. You know dressing up, goofing off, and having the last sha-bang of our young school lives together. And of course, as Murphy's Law would have it, some of my friends are renigging. Whatever they want to do is fine. But we all talked about going; and, seeing that I won't see them very much, if at all, anymore and I was looking forward to going. But no... I'll still go, I mean I do have other friends. And I'm certainly not going to let this dress hang in the closet unworn ::>

<::Of course not to sound vain: but, it looks much better on me. I feel like a regular Audrey Hepburn in it. :( If only a certain Mr. Radcliffe could whisk me off to prom. ::>sigh<::

Alas, I've heard nothing from Blockbuster, perhaps HP posters and I aren't meant to be.

April 18, 2004

Well, my grocery scanning hobby is over and done with. Thank god! Now the next challenge in this poor soul's life is to find a new job, along with passing all my classes. Life is once again becoming an annoying routine, which is amazing since I'm no longer employed.

I've nominated VP for several awards, so please take a look at the splash, and vote in the near distant future.

Also, it's hard work trying to please the invisible web community of HP. The competition is rough and the friendships are slim pickings. That awe inspiring number of over 3,000 visitors makes me really like to know how I'm doing. I'd appreciate a tag, e-mail, or post in my guestbook. And it you do visit the Pensieve, that review button brings me so much happines; it's like oxygen for me.
